About Lori

Lori’s Fish-Glass studio in Blairstown, New Jersey, is where she designs and creates her glass art. Drawing on the beauty of nature, mixed with a vibrant imaginative twist that frequently involves the various sea-creatures she loves, everything she creates is a unique, one-off work of love.

History

After getting her B.A. in Art Education (Kean University), Lori worked as an art teacher for several years. Then, in the early 1980’s, Lori began making and selling jewelry. As that business grew, she later began selling across the U.S., and was featured in gallery shows — all while being a single mom to her daughter, Thea.

In 1991, Lori returned to college to get her master’s (Columbia University), followed by a PhD (City University Graduate Center) in Social Welfare, and has since worked internationally developing and implementing social program and policy development. She now serves as Executive Director for the Monclair Fund for Women in Montclair, New Jersey.

Glass-making

In 2013, Lori took up glass-making as a hobby, first making beads and other small sculptures, then working with borosilicate glass. She started Fish-Glass.com in 2015, and has been selling her work online ever since. In 2024, she also became a member of Gallery 23, a Co-op art gallery in Blairstown, NJ, where she displays and sells her creations.

Starting this year, Lori will also be exhibiting her work at a couple of art shows. Stay tuned for further information!
